Description A mother and her child prepare roasted "dango," or rice cakes, traditionally eaten to mark special events throughout the year. In this print, they are being prepared for "tsukimi," the moon-viewing festival held on the autumnal equinox.
Provenance C. Robert Snell, Oriental Arts & Antiques, Timonium, Maryland; purchased by Justine Lewis Keidel, Owings Mills, Maryland, after 1971; given to Walters Art Museum, 1991.
