Casket

Description Conservation Exhibitions Provenance Credit
Description This casket features an silver inlaid design of horsemen (possibly falconers) within roundels.
Conservation

The silver inlay was irregularly tarnished from exposure to sulfurous pollutants. The inlays were cleaned using organic solvents and a vinyl eraser. After cleaning, the casket was coated with a resin to reduce tarnishing and abrasive polishing in the future.
