Description Provenance Inscription Credit
Description A sea bream ("tai") is depicted lying on bamboo. The fish is shown as foodstuff, not a living animal. Tai are often eaten at celebratory occasions because the syllable "tai" is part of the word for "auspicious" ("medetai").
