Female Figure
(Ancient Egypt and Nubia )
This fragment of a double kohl box is decorated with a female figure shown in relief on a rectangular background. She stands facing left with one hand at her waist cupped upward. She is nude except for a wig with long lappets. The wig is surmounted by a pad in which fresh flowers could be inserted to make a crown. The mouth of the left tube is preserved. The back of the box is missing.
The box and the type of decoration are well known.
