Dupondius of Antoninus Pius
140-144 CE (Roman Imperial)
bronze; struck
Obverse: Head of Antoninus Pius, radiate, right; beaded border. Reverse: Genius of the Senate, togate, standing frontal, head facing left, branch in left hand, scepter in right; beaded border. The split of PI-VS sets this issue apart from a number of similar coins which break either before or after the word. The metal of this particular coin appears dubious.
