Virgin of the Immaculate Conception
(18th and 19th Centuries )
Very little is known about Claudio Fucigna, but he appears to have been a commercial sculptor resident in Carrara, Italy and active in the last quarter of the 19th century. Such peices as this were popular in domestic and religious settings, as well as used in graveyards, and were imported to the United States in large numbers.
