Diptych with the Virgin and Child and Saint Nicholas
(Byzantium and Early Russia)
The outside of this small pectoral diptych icon is decorated with flowers and a cross. The inside contains on one side an image of the Virgin and Child flanked by two worshipers and on the other an image of St. Nicholas the Miracle-Worker flanked by Christ and the Virgin.
