Tsuka with Plum Blossoms and Phoenixes
(Japanese Military Armor)
The background of this tsuka is designed to look like the bark of a tree. The menuki on either side depict a mythical phoenix-like bird ("hô-ô") flying over a group of flowers. The kashira on the end is decorated with carved plum blossoms. This is part of a mounted set.
