The Buddhist Goddess Bhrikuti
(Southeast Asia )
Adorning female deities with the garments and jewelry of royalty, sculptors endowed them with a beauty and dignity that reflected the ideals of the court. Like Tara, Bhrikuti is an attendant to Avalokiteshvara, embodiment of compassion, and she helps the advanced student of meditation fully realize loving kindness.
