Tsuba with Basket of Fresh Seafood
(Japanese Military Armor)
On the front of this tsuba is a basket of sea food, including a spiny lobster and a sea bream. Both of these fish are considered celebratory and often eaten as part of New Year celebrations. The basket also contains a squid and two additional fish. On the back of the tsuba are mushrooms, a daikon radish, a turnip, and a sprig of flowers.
