Spying on a Samurai
(Japan and Korea )
Three characters are depicted from an unidentified play. The samurai (at right) seems to be engaged in a conversation with characters who would appear in the triptych to the right of him. His attendant in the lower left holds a lantern. Behind a sliding door a man listens to the conversation.
