"This is in the style of Huang Gongwang [Huang Kung-wang]'s 'Autumn Mountain.' Because the original no longer exists, people are not aware of its source, as the people not aware should realize.
"This is a painting made by me ten years ago. I did not put down the year. Now I put it down for reference. 1697, Shibiao [Shih-piao] at the age of 83."
Huang Gongwang [Huang Kung-wang] (1269-1354) was a revered painter of the Yuan [Yüan] dynasty.
