(Japan and Korea )
Kodo (“way of fragrance”) describes the incense game. This game involves a group of people with the goal of identifying different fragrant woods, used as incense in this game, by smelling their scent and making guesses. The game has many pieces of equipment that are beautifully decorated works of lacquer and metalwork, such as this lacquered box of counters that players use to represent their guesses.
