Description Deep "trullae," or serving-pans, are usually found in pairs, one slightly smaller than the other, so they could be nested together when not in use. They were probably used for serving liquids. This one, a pair with Walters 57.2102, is unusually fine and is decorated with floral patterns and duck heads.
Provenance [Found in the Black sea area (?)]; Mrs. M. Burg, London, 1951, by purchase; The Stieff Company, Baltimore, December 12, 1951, by purchase; Walters Art Museum, 1985, by gift.
