Portrait of Countess Kavannough (?)
(18th and 19th Centuries )
John Smart, now recognized as one of the finest English miniaturists of the 18th century, was a precocious artist who began to exhibit his works to the public at the age of 12. Four years after completing this portrait, he was elected President of the Society of Artists in London.
