Description The spirits of the pine trees of Takasago and Sumiyoshi are depicted as an old married couple. They are in the middle of the kozuka, under a pine tree on the right. The ocean shore is on their left. The spirits are the central characters in the noh play "Takasago." On the reverse of the kozuka are five incised cranes in flight. Cranes represent longevity.
