Tsuba with Scrollwork Design
(Japanese Military Armor)
This tsuba is decorated with a design of incised scrollwork. The body of the tsuba is composed of alternating layers of copper and a copper alloy with gold. This created bands of color that can be seen on the edge and within the incisions. Both secondary holes have been plugged in gold.
