(18th and 19th Centuries )
Caspar Scheuren was a professor at the Düsseldorf Academy from 1855, where, as a student, he had earlier studied with Carl Friedrich Lessing and Johann Wilhelm Schirmer. Travels as a student informed his romantic landscapes, which often recall the work of Caspar David Friedrich (1774-1840).
