Bracelet

English (Jeweler)
ca. 1840
gold, enamel, diamonds
(18th and 19th Centuries , Jewelry)

This intricate bracelet consists of eleven rectangular segments connected to each other by small hinges. Eight segments feature openwork floral patterns embellished with diamonds, while three are decorated in green enamel. The thin segments can be folded into the form of a book: two of the green panels compose the front and back covers, while the larger central panel, which depicts a seated dog forms the "book's" spine.
