(18th and 19th Centuries )

Around the body of the cup is a silver envelope with pierced designs and three portrait medallions in repoussé. The finial of the cover is designed as a double-headed eagle.

Inscription

Bears the marks of an unknown maker 'VD', who was active 1741-1753. It also bears the assayer's mark of Andrei Zaitsev who was active from 1735-1749. Several marks on rim: Moscow 1745.
