Saint Sebastian
(18th and 19th Centuries )
The saint is shown in an almost ballet-like dancing posture, with one foot raised off the ground. The figure is bound to a tree of brownish coral with fetters of gold and is pierced with five golden arrows.
The subject was a popular one in south Germany.
The left arm, left leg, and toes of the left foot have been broken and repaired. The base is modern.
