In this scene of the play, Yuranosuke bursts out of a chest in which he has been secretly listening as a co-conspirator's loyalty is tested. Yuranosuke is the leader of the samurai who were left without a master when Hangan was ordered to commit suicide. He needs to make sure the samurai's supplier would not give away their plans for revenge.
