Description of Mr. Henry Walters' Collection of Oriental Royal Arms Etc.
In 1903, Henry Walters purchased several works of art from Robert S. Pardo, the manager of the Oriental Museum. These items included the Jeweled Gun of Sultan Mahmud I and other Ottoman arms and accessories. To accompany the purchases, Pardo gave to Walters this book which describes the objects and gives their histories (often embellished).
