Description Exhibitions Provenance Inscription Credit
Description Iron "hachi" and "mabisashi" with copper and silver inlay ("ito zogan") damascene. The former with thirty-two "suji" (ridged) plates. Gold kikuza, copper buttons, ring on back. "Mon - on fukigaeshi" (blowbacks or ears) = "maru katabami" (wood sorrel). Central brass "paulownia (kiri) mon" = Fujiwara family. "Shikawara" (neck guard) laced in "kebiki" style (spread hair style) with high quality cinnabar, "ito-doshi" lacing. Five lames. Cloth lining. Riveted laminations, "zogan".
