Annunciation / Saint Nicholas
The front of the panel portrays the Annunciation. The archangel Gabriel, on the left, approaches the Virgin with his right hand raised in a gesture of greeting. Mary, seated on a chair, raises her own hand in acceptance, while the Hand of God blesses her from above. The figures appear against a background of stylized architecture, representing the town of Nazareth. The back of the panel shows St. Nicholas, dressed as a bishop. His left hand is holding a Gospel book and his right one is raised in blessing.
