Kashira with Autumn Flowers
(Japanese Military Armor)
The kashira is decorated with pampas grass, morning glories, arrowroot, and maiden flowers. These are four of the seven autumn grasses that were celebrated in ancient Japanese poetry. The other three on the matching fuchi, Walters 51.1062.
