Venice, Sunset
(18th and 19th Centuries )
From the artist's usual vantage point, the viewer looks westward into the sunset. On the right are the Ducal Palace and the Prison, and on the left in the middle ground is Santa Maria della Salute. Gondolas cross the Bacino di San Marco in the foreground.
