Description The rim of this small tsuba is shaped like a stalk of bamboo. At the lower right corner is a single plum blossom. Plum blossoms, bamboo and pine are known as the Three Friends of Winter ("saikan sanyû"). This is part of a mounted set.
Provenance Henry Walters, Baltimore [date and mode of acquistion unknown]; Walters Art Museum, 1931, by bequest.
