Plaque with the Resurrection of Christ

Description Conservation Exhibitions Provenance Credit
Description Christ appears to explode from the open sarcophagus, sending the sleeping guards reeling. The flamboyance of the style is almost too ambitious for so small a plaque. Given the height of the relief and the degree of undercutting behind the swirling drapery, this plaque would not have been set into a cabinet or casket but was almost surely an independent work of art.
