Seated Buddha

Description Provenance Credit
Description The Buddha is depicted in the act of meditation. Certain details- the eyes, the lower edge of the hair curls, the form of the folded shawl that hangs across the chest- show that the sculpture dates from a period in which Dvaravati and Cambodian styles were mingling.
Provenance Mr. William G. Siedenburg [date and mode of acquisition unknown]; Walters Art Museum, 2002, by bequest.
Credit Bequest of Mr. William Siedenburg, 2002
