Nude Warrior

Greek (Artist)
late 3rd-2nd century BCE (Hellenistic/Ptolemaic)
cast bronze with core
(Ancient Greece )

The dramatic posture and exaggerated twist of the neck date this piece to the mid Hellenistic period. The pose implies the presence of at least one other figure. The blue-green color, modeling of the muscles, and unpolished surface are typical of works from Alexandria.
