Falcon
(Ancient Egypt and Nubia )
Associated with the sun, moon, sky, and the king, the falcon was the sacred animal of the solar- and celestial- gods Re and Horus. Amethyst was particularly prized during the Middle Kingdom and also the shape of the falcon refers to such a date.
