Description Provenance Inscription Credit
Description The decoration on this tsuba is confined to the raised rim. At the upper left edge sits a fly. One spider is below it. Another spider is along the upper right edge as though approaching the fly. There is also a cherry blossom on the lower edge. This tsuba is one of a pair with Walters 51.392 and had a matching lacquer box.
Provenance Henry Walters, Baltimore [date and mode of acquisition unknown]; Walters Art Museum, 1931, by bequest.
