Description St. Nicolas the Miracle-Worker, bishop of Myra (a city in Asia Minor), is flanked by Christ and the Virgin above (they are handing him a Gospel book and an omophorion, signs of his episcopal authority) and by two unidentified monastic saints below (perhaps Basil the Great and Sergius of Radonezh).
