Lantern or Incense Burner (Censer)
There are many small holes in the body of this apple-shaped terracotta vessel. There is a large opening on one side of the body, and burnt material is visible on the interior. A branch, possibly representing a palm tree, was drawn in the wet clay above the opening and may be a reference to Christianity or Judaism. While the vertical part above the body seems to be original, the loop at the top was added in 1945.
