The small, shell-shaped seal depicts the standing Virgin, whose hand is extended over a kneeling supplicant. The person's name is revealed by the accompanying inscription.

[Transcription] Μ(ήτη)ρ Θ(εο)ῦ Θ(εοτόκ)ε βοηθι τὸν σὸν δούλ(ον) Ἰω(άννην); [Translation] Mother of God, help your servant John
