Meiboku Sendai Hagi

This print refers to a famous scene from "Meiboku Sendai Hagi" ("The Disputed Succession"), a play in which a group of conspirators tries to kill the "Oshu daimyo" (feudal lord) and his son. Nikki Danjo, an evil character with occult powers, changes into a rat in order to retrieve a list of fellow conspirators that has fallen into the hands of the son's loyal nurse. The actor Matsumoto Koshiro V plays Nikki Danjo.
