Tetradrachm of Carthage
Obverse: Head of Arethusa with wheat-ear crown left, wearing tri-pendant earrings and a pearl necklace; four dolphins surround the head: two to the left facing each other, and two below following each other to the left; beaded border. Reverse: Horse head, left, with palm tree to right; solid border.
A Punic inscription reading “MMHNT,” which translates as “people of the camp,” would have been on the reverse in the exergue but due to a misalignment of the die and flan does not appear.
