Front plate with a formal foliate design applied. Hinged side plates, waidate in two parts. All plates have one or more lacquered plates laced to them, some with a decorated leather overlay and upper plates with rolled gold rims. Inside with gilded leather. Shoulder pieces (watagami) are leather panels set in gold rims, beneath them is a padded cloth shoulder pad. Hata-wa-no-ita of iron, rings and ojime of gold.
