The Actors Ichikawa Kodanji IV as Kōno Moronao and Nakamura Fukusuke I as Momoi Wakasanosuke

Description Exhibitions Provenance Inscription Credit
Description Wakanosuke, wearing yellow, grips his sword hilt in anger, barely restraining himself from drawing his sword. Moronao, the evil governor of Kamakura, having just been caught trying to seduce another's wife, insults Wakanosuke almost to the point of confrontation. The opposition of these two characters sets in motion the traumatic events to follow, including suicide and revenge.
