Writing Box
1750
wood, shagreen, gold, glass, textile, and mirror
This box is covered with shagreen, specially prepared and stained sharkskin, with a design of tiny gold studs. These mimic the patterns that would have been found on full-size luxury trunks and other leather cases of this period.
