A couple stands in a garden at night outside a pavilion with an empty bed. The moon in the sky indicates that it is night. The plaintive attitudes of the lovers suggest that they are parting. According to the inscription on the top, the verse, which describes the woman, was composed by a poet named Govinda. The inscription also records the artist’s name—Jaikishen of Malpura—and the patron’s name, Raiji Motiram.
