Cylinder Seal with Temple Façade
(Ancient Egypt and Nubia )
This early cylinder seal is inscribed with geometric designs that depict a temple façade and possibly a holy tree. The patterns are reminiscent of nets and organic materials, and are characteristic of the late Predynastic Period (ca. 3650-2960 BCE). This object most likely functioned as an administrative seal.
