Shekel of Judaea (First Jewish Revolt)
69-70 CE (Roman Imperial)
Obverse: Chalice; beaded border. Reverse: Three pomegranates on stem; beaded border.
This type of coinage is particular to Judaea during the first revolt against Roman rule. The symbols above the chalice on the Obverse (ד ש) give the date as “year 4” of the revolt, meaning 69/70 CE.
