Description This fairly standard bronze icon portrays the crucified Christ with attendant angels, a dove representing the Holy Spirit, and God the Father as the Ancient of Days (Daniel 7:9-10). Below Christ's feet is the skull of Adam, beside him are the lance and the reed with a sponge, and around the long horizontal bar is a short hymn in praise of the Cross.
