Kozuka with Buddhist Inscription
(Japanese Military Armor)
The three character inscription at the top of the kozuka reads "No beginning or end." It is a shortened version of the Buddhist saying "mushi mushû," which reminds believers that the Buddha is eternal. This is part of a mounted set.
