Amphora with a Youth and a Bearded Man and Victory
(Ancient Greece )
This amphora depicts a bearded, mantled man and Nike on the front. Wreathed, the man stands in profile to the right, holding a staff in his right hand. Shown in profile, Nike walks to the left, her hands covered by her drapery at the waist; the right is held higher than the left. She wears a chiton and mantle, and has a thin fillet around her head.
The back depicts a mantled youth with a fillet. He stands in profile to the right with his right hand extended at his waist holding (and possibly offering) an oval object (maybe a fruit or an egg).
