Description This watch has a circular gold case, engraved and inlaid with colored golds. The back cover is set with a medallion in colored enamel; the hands of the watch are set with brilliants. The watch is dated with the letter "C" for 1766. The white enamel dial is inscribed "Bertoud a Paris."
Provenance Anatole Demidoff, Prince of San Donato (1812-1870); Tiffany and Company, New York, prior to 1893 [mode of acquisition unknown] (on 1893 list, no. 67); Henry Walters, Baltimore, after 1893 [mode of acquisition unknown]; Walters Art Museum, 1931, by bequest.
