Hermit

Description Conservation Exhibitions Provenance Inscription Credit
Description This seated hermit, who holds a fruit in his right hand, may in fact represent the Buddha-to-be in one of his previous lives. The leg strap, which hermits wear in order to help support their legs during long stretches of meditation, has broken between the legs.
