Tsuka with Chrysanthemums
(Japanese Military Armor)
The kashira and menuki on this handle match a signed fuchi by Unno Moritoshi mounted on the same sword. Chrysanthemums are a symbol of autumn and also associated with the imperial house. The handle is wrapped in whale baleen. This is part of a mounted set.
